A+ Math Tutoring Offers the Highest Quality Tutors Available

Each candidate undergoes a thorough interview process, demonstrating their knowledge and ability to explain math and science concepts. Just as importantly, we make it a priority that each candidate knows how to interact in an engaging, friendly way so that students can more easily connect with them. The owner of A+ Math Tutoring holds a degree in physics from UC Santa Cruz and was a math tutor herself for years, both while in college and with other tutoring companies before starting her own company. Because of her background, she is able to ask all the right questions when interviewing to find the most qualified tutors. Our tutors typically stay with the company for years, allowing for families to continue with the same tutor through many grades of schooling. We feel it’s important to provide an enjoyable experience for both our families and for our tutors to ensure the most pleasant learning environment for all.

We Specialize in Math and Science at all levels

Also, including Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, PreCalculus, Calculus, Statistics and college-level math classes. Different tutors specialize in different math classes and grades according to their expertise. For example, some of our tutors are experts in tutoring PreCalculus and Calculus, specifically. Others specialize in elementary-aged children and Pre-Algebra and have experience teaching in a classroom setting as a credentialed teacher for many years. We believe that each tutor should focus on the math or science classes they enjoy most and excel in when tutoring. In addition, some tutors are wonderful at explaining concepts online, while others are amazing at connecting with younger students in-person. We have specific tutors dedicated to tutoring various science courses such as physics, chemistry and biology. All of our Chemistry, Biology and Calculus tutors are experienced tutoring through the AP level, such as AP Calculus, AP Biology and AP Chemistry.

In-home instruction and online tutoring

Both offered, each providing one-on-one interaction between students and tutors. For online instruction, our tutors use an interactive whiteboard via Zoom, which allows tutors to clearly explain problems, including making diagrams and using other visual tools to best explain concepts. One-on-one online sessions allow for a personalized environment, much different than that of being in a Zoom classroom with many students. Our sessions make it easy for students to participate, including trying problems and asking questions at any time during the session. For in-home instruction, the tutor matches with the student and provides instruction in the most hands-on, interactive way. We find that in-home tutoring often provides an ideal learning environment for elementary and middle school students. For high school and college students, we have seen that most prefer online since it provides the type of help they seek. Online sessions also more easily allow for last-minute help and sessions of shorter length
