In the 10 years that A+ Math Tutoring has been helping families in the Los Angeles area, we’ve noticed an upward trend in the number of females opting to take higher-level math and science courses such as AP Calculus and AP Physics.  Our future mathematicians, engineers, and scientists are seeing a greater balance in representation.  Although the male to female ratio is becoming more equalized, there are things teachers and parents can do to encourage balancing of this ratio even further in the STEM fields.  This blog aims to shed light on this issue and explore ways to encourage more girls to embark on this exciting journey.
