He especially enjoys the way that mathematical ideas build on each other, and believes that breaking down concepts into simple, step-by-step processes can make math accessible to anyone! Josh is a passionate hiker who loves finding beautiful places in nature, and also likes to play soccer and chess whenever he has the chance.

Her experience includes neurodivergent students, as well as gifted students. Outside the classroom, Sofia leads an active life, including soccer, running, hiking and singing.

Sasha Schtein graduated from UCLA with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Bioinformatics and is currently pursuing a master’s in education. She has extensive experience tutoring middle school and high school students. With 8 years of teaching experience, Sasha has found a passion for helping students experience those ‘lightbulb’ moments that boost their confidence and math fluency. She enjoys providing clear, step-by-step instructions that help build critical thinking and problem solving skills for current and future math classes. When she’s not teaching, Sasha enjoys playing tennis and practicing the drums.

Ronnie graduated from Rowan University with degrees in both Biomedical Engineering and Chemistry. She recently defended her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Brown before moving to LA to start a research position at USC. She first discovered her love of chemistry and biology during her freshman year and has been tutoring ever since. No matter how complex the problem is, Ronnie always strived to help the student connect to fundamental concepts in order to logically think through the solution. When Ronnie isn’t researching or tutoring, she loves to hike, craft, and hang out with her two cats!

She loves to see students experience “light-bulb” moments when learning finally clicks, and she enjoys identifying the best strategies to meet each scholar’s needs. Her thorough explanations and gentle approach provide a feeling of calm for students. When she is not tutoring, Maggie loves to crochet and play trivia with friends.

Simon is a current Mathematics/Economics student at UCLA. In addition to studying math, he is involved in research with the mathematics department. He has always been passionate about math and problem solving, spending much of his childhood doing Rubik’s Cubes, puzzles, and math competitions. Simon is social and collaborative and excels in connecting with students on a personal level, always striving to find ways to ensure each student understands what is being taught, often using creative approaches. His favorite part of tutoring is helping students reach the point where they feel confident enough to independently approach, and solve, problems. In Simon’s free time he likes to waterski, hike, rock climb and play board games.

Stephen currently serves as a Biostatistician for Yale University’s School of Medicine and the US government. He earned his Master’s degree in Statistics in 2021 following a Bachelor’s degree in Biostatistics. His work has been published in research journals, and he has presented at numerous academic conferences. Stephen has extensive teaching experience at both the high school and college levels, along with several years as a tutor. His favorite part of tutoring is being able to take topics and apply them to students’ personal interests. Outside of work, he enjoys watching sports and cooking.
