He especially enjoys the way that mathematical ideas build on each other, and believes that breaking down concepts into simple, step-by-step processes can make math accessible to anyone! Josh is a passionate hiker who loves finding beautiful places in nature, and also likes to play soccer and chess whenever he has the chance.

Hayley graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her interdisciplinary studies included biology, math and chemistry. Her favorite subjects to tutor are elementary and middle school math and Spanish. Hayley’s bubbly personality and attention to detail allow her to connect with students and work through challenging problems together as a team. She recognizes that every student has a different learning style and she enjoys meeting students where they’re at to help them get to where they need to be for success. Derek is an undergraduate at UC Santa Barbara currently majoring in Computer Science, with a minor likely in chemistry. For over 3 years, he has tutored all levels of chemistry and biology, as well as SAT/ACT prep. Derek’s strengths include connecting with students and guiding them through concepts in easy-to-understand terms. He has led students to success on the SAT, as well as personally scored a 1570, which included a perfect 800 on the math section. He took part in the US National Chemistry Olympiad competition, a test designed to cover challenging high school and college-level topics, where he was 1 of just 13 students to advance. In his free time, Derek is an avid runner and loves to explore the trails along the beach in Santa Barbara.

Alonso completed his degree in mathematics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, along with a minor in Science and Math Education. Following his undergraduate studies, he obtained his secondary teaching credentials. His passion for mathematics stems from a love for problem solving and making connections of mathematical concepts. He strives to help students develop their problem-solving abilities by strengthening fundamental skills and using logical reasoning. In his free time, Alonso enjoys being outdoors, lately that means playing soccer and running as he trains for his first marathon.

Amanda holds a teaching license for math, as well as a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Ronnie graduated from Rowan University with degrees in both Biomedical Engineering and Chemistry. She recently defended her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Brown before moving to LA to start a research position at USC. She first discovered her love of chemistry and biology during her freshman year and has been tutoring ever since. No matter how complex the problem is, Ronnie always strived to help the student connect to fundamental concepts in order to logically think through the solution.
